Steeped in history, the Charleston Music Hall is one of the oldest buildings on the block. Known historically as The Tower Depot, the Charleston Music Hall was built 1849-50 as a passenger station of the South Carolina Railroad. The Gothic Revival Style building originally had a three story tower which projected into John Street and a main entrance large enough to admit a train.

Spoleto Festival USA was founded in 1977 by Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Gian Carlo Menotti, who sought to create an American counterpart to the annual Festival of Two Worlds in Spoleto, Italy, that he founded in 1958. Looking for a city that would provide the charm of Spoleto as well as its wealth of theaters, churches and other performances spaces, Menotti selected Charleston as the ideal location. The historic city provided a perfect fit: it was intimate enough that the Festival would captivate the entire city, yet cosmopolitan enough to provide an enthusiastic audience and robust infrastructure.

We create original, never-gonna-see-it-again hilarity every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday night.

As “Charleston’s Home For Improv Comedy,” improv is our thang.  We perform improvised plays based entirely on audience suggestions. It makes for the funniest theatre experience around.

Shows are typically PG-13, but since they are based on audience suggestion, you never know what will happen.
